GUIDE TO CHOOSING A RUG
It can be hard to find simple, stylish rugs when you’re decorating a room. I have spent hours trawling the internet to find a suitable colour and pattern for a room and it can be dis-heartening when you find the perfect one, fall in love and then see the price! Rugs can easily cost a few hundred pounds which takes a large chunk out of a room decor budget, and if you are anything like me then I’d rather spend the big bucks on a comfortable sofa, an eye-catching armchair or a gorgeous coffee table.
Rugs can create different areas in a room and make it feel cosy and appealing. Always remember to measure out the size of the rug on the floor beforehand, so you can get a feel for how it will look in the space.

To create an inviting, inclusive feel, choose a rug large enough to extend past all of your seating. To highlight a particular area, layer your foundation rug with a smaller rug that makes a big statement. If your living room space is very large, consider dividing it into separate seating areas, each with its own rug.
In today’s post I have listed the best choices of affordable rugs under various styles, I added beach styles as the look really appeals to me and my dream is to one day end up in a cottage by the sea (I know I’m not the only one to have that dream!) Most of the rugs do come in various sizes so will suit a variety of spaces. I’ve also included some templates to show ideas of good rug placement.
