SPRING GREEN INTERIOR STYLE
SHOP THE LOOK:
Spring is the time of year that reminds us of new beginnings. Now that winter is behind us, it’s time to refresh our home decor with lighter, brighter elements. I like to start with a neutral base to work from which means you can switch out home decor pieces like, throw pillows and accessories, with each season.
Giving yourself the flexibility to be able to change the look of your living room simply by swapping out the accents certainly helps keep everything look fresh and seasonal every few months.
In this apartment a base of pure white with various shades of green accessories really keeps it light and airy.
Wall prints can be changed to match the current seasons decor, they are so inexpensive to purchase nowadays and some companies even offer downloadable options. There are some great affordable frame choices at Ikea to ensure you get the right size and colour.
One of the easiest ways to bring spring in the home is with some new throw pillows, it’s inexpensive and can make a sofa or chair look so different, adding pale and dark shades of the same colour can work well together. It can also be as simple as draping a new throw over your sofa, adding a new runner to your dining room table, or even placing fun doormats at the foot of your home’s entries.
Add some greenery. House plants are all the rage right now. Nothing fills a bare corner more beautifully than a plant and it can uplift your mood, brighten a space and freshen the air. Fresh flowers will always evoke a spring vibe, I always make sure I include a weekly flower purchase in my budget. You could also consider having a terrarium, they are wildly popular at the moment and are usually quite low maintenance. Another idea is to hang a spring wreath on your front door. It will always put a smile on your face, not to mention your guests.
Adding some colour coordinated accessories to shelves and tables is a lovely touch and keeps the seasonal theme going throughout the home. Try some scented candles, vases and even books which match your scheme.
